Named after their closing hour, 2am: Dessert Bar is the brainchild of celebrity pastry chef Janice Wong. Hidden in a corner of the Holland Village food enclave, the contemporary space offers an intimate experience over desserts and cocktails.
We recommend the Cassis Plum ($24), a multi-textural concoction of Cassis, White Chocolate, Elderflower Yoghurt Foam, Choya and Yuzu.

Spice it up at Birds of a Feather
Put a little heat into your Valentine’s Day plans at this Chinatown joint. Run by the folks behind Good Wood Coffee, a chain of cafes in Chengdu, Sichuan, the joint serves Western grub with a Sichuan twist along with some traditional favourites. Think Bolognaise made from 炸酱 Zha Jiang Sauce and Grilled Cheese Paninis with Sichuan-style pork belly. Yum.
The cafe covers two shophouses and features a cosy mix of wooden furniture and lush greenery. We recommend visiting in the afternoon where, thanks to two large skylights, the space is bathed in natural sunlight that makes for picture-perfect snapshots.
